Somehow if you're "lucky" it'll break before the 2 year warranty is up and you might be able to get a swap if you give borderline DNA evidence, but I'd say it's within 8-14 months for me to start having issues. Brand typically doesn't matter too much, you'll either get double clicking, middle mouse button issues, or clicks not always registering. The rest of the mouse works fine, but the main mouse button double-clicks rending the mouse useless.Ī lot of these gaming mice in the $20-60 range nowadays remind me of InkJet printers where they're in the landfill within 2 yrs. I thought high end would have better quality and longevity, but apparently not. I've gone through my share of high end Logitech mice which also develop the annoying double-click after a short period of ownership (about 2 years max). However from a company's perspective, they have a financial incentive to keep you on the upgrading treadmill so they have a steady revenue stream. I also shop for products that will last a long time (eh, how much more can you actually improve or change a mouse?). I commend you for having this as your primary buying decision. Lol Easier said than done when it comes to buying products that are more sustainable and last longer especially to keep e-waste out of landfills. I am trying to create less waste by buying products designed to last longer. The feature set is quite a bit bigger, but the key difference for me is that it uses an optical switch that in theory means no more double clicking issues. I know vs $25 this is a big jump, but I would consider the Basilisk v2 which is currently on clearance to make room for the v3. These are basically disposable mice unfortunately. I always get sucked in because the price is good and ergonomics are decent. I've had 3 and they all develop double clicking 1-2 years in with moderate use.
